As we have recently announced, Pastor Rick has been battling lymphoma and has undergone rounds of chemotherapy for the past several weeks. While the treatment has been effective against the cancer to an extent, Pastor Rick has been experiencing complications with his immune system.

Unfortunately, the doctors have informed Pastor Rick and his family that chemotherapy has taken too much of a toll on his body, and that they have exhausted all of their treatment options. Therefore, Pastor Rick and his family have agreed to transition him to hospice care and allow natural processes to take place.

At this time, Pastor Omar has decided to postpone his sabbatical to 2024 in order to support our church during this season.

We are filled with gratitude that Pastor Rick is in good spirits, and we’re encouraged by Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” We know the Lord is sovereign over all things and that Pastor Rick’s life is in His hands.
