On Thursday June 24th, at 1:30am a building with 136 units partially collapsed bringing down 55 apartments collapsed in Surfside causing pain, death, loss and great sadness.

God’s Word reminds us “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers..” - Galatians 6:10

Two of the families affected by this tragedy are connected to Christ Fellowship.

The first family is The Gonzalez Family. They are Edgar and Angela and their daughters Taylor and Devon. Taylor, fortunately, was not home that night. Angela and Devon the wife and daughter were rescued from the rubble shortly after the building collapsed. Angela, the mother, sustained severe injuries, which has required three surgeries. She remains in serious condition. The daughter, Devon, also suffered injuries and has undergone two surgeries. Both have a long journey to recovery. Unfortunately, Edgar, their loving husband and father, has not been found yet.

The second family is the Santo’s family, Yadira and her son Kai, they lived two doors down from the Gonzalez family. By the Grace of God, their part of the building did not come down. They were able to evacuate down a staircase on the other side of the building without any physical injuries. However, they lost their home and everything they had.

Christ Fellowship has already been serving in many ways behind the scenes but let’s band together to provide some financial relief to our brothers and sisters during this critical time. If you would like to make a donation you can use the giving tool below. 100% of the funds donated will be given to the families with connections to Christ Fellowship.

Please continue to pray for the victims, their families and our First Responders.
