More Than Enough: Hope in Jesus
Lauren Orellana
May 8, 2025
Whispered words into a cold coffee cup, “What a day. 10 more seconds of this coffee in the microwave and I can keep pushing forward.”
We often measure ourselves against impossible standards, muttering in mundane moments asking: “Am I doing enough? Loving enough? Being enough?”
But Jesus gently whispers back to us, “I am your enough. Hold on to this.”
That’s good news for every mom and every woman walking this journey.
Where Real Hope Comes From
Motherhood is full of holy moments wrapped in ordinary chaos: Sighs between wiping sticky hands, giggles while sitting beside an empty crib in anticipation, heavy steps through the cemetery navigating grief, or muffled conversation gathered around a table with your kids and grandkids.

Words under our breath, or words that remain unspoken, can be buried in all the moments we push through. Motherhood is real, raw, and beautiful, holding space in both the joyful and the hard places. It’s a calling found in diaper changes, teenage talks, adoption paperwork, step-parenting struggles, and tearful prayers for what could have been.
Motherhood is so much but one truth holds steady: Jesus is our hope, meeting us in all of it. He doesn’t offer the fragile kind of hope that depends on circumstances, but the unshakable kind rooted only in Him.
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” –Hebrews 6:19
No matter what this season holds for you, you are seen. And more than that, you are held. Held by the Savior who walked dusty roads to reach hurting hearts, who gathered children in His arms, who wept with the grieving, and rejoiced with the joyful.
Let this be your peace: You are not defined by your circumstances, but by your Savior. His hope holds steady through every storm, every joy, every question mark. Jesus promises His presence and that changes everything.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” – Romans 15:13
Jesus is enough. He offers you hope.
Loved Beyond Measure
To the mom wondering if she’s doing it right, Jesus doesn’t ask you to be perfect. He just invites you to walk with Him.
“He gently leads those that have young.” – Isaiah 40:11
To the woman longing to hear the word “Mom,” your prayers are precious. Your tears are seen. God is close in your waiting. Psalm 56:8 reminds us, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.”

To the woman grieving, Jesus weeps with you. His presence is your comfort.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4
To the one mothering someone else’s children, you are walking a Christ-like path of selfless love. You are not second-best. You are chosen for this.
To the woman missing her mom today, it’s okay to feel both gratitude and grief. Jesus walks through both with you. You are never alone.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26
Whether you're holding a child, a memory, a hope, or a heartache—rest today knowing that you are held by a God who sees, who knows, and who stays. You are loved beyond measure.
