Week 2

Week 2: God's Provision

Read: 1 Chronicles 29:1-14

Discussion Questions

  1. What stood out to you most from Sunday’s teaching? What challenged, convicted, or encouraged you personally?

  2. The Davis family took a step of faith by purchasing fifty chairs when only five people were attending the church. What does their story teach us about trusting God with what He has entrusted to us, even when we cannot see the outcome of our generosity?

  3. Read 1 Chronicles 29:2-5. David and the leaders of the families didn’t just encourage the people to

give. They personally led the way through sacrificial generosity. How does his example challenge the way

you lead and influence others, especially your family, when it comes to honoring God with your finances?

  4. Read 1 Chronicles 29:12-13. Pastor Omar explained that while God’s sovereignty means He has power

over all things, His providence means He is actively providing for and sustaining His people. How does

knowing that God is not only in control but also personally involved in providing for your needs change the way you trust Him, especially when facing financial uncertainty?

  5. God’s providential Hand provides for us in threeways: visibly, unexpectedly, and invisibly. Looking back on your life, where have you seen God provide in one or more of these ways? How has that shaped

    your trust in Him?

  6. Read Malachi 3:10. One of the ways God provides for us is through His invisible Hand, protecting us

from unexpected costs and expenses we may never even know about. How does recognizing that God

is providing for you, even in ways you cannot see, challenge you to trust Him more with your finances

    and generosity?

Additional Questions

  1. Pastor Omar shared that when we see ourselves as our own provider, giving can feel like a burden.

But when we recognize God as our provider, giving becomes a privilege. As you examine your own heart, which perspective do you find yourself leaning toward most often, and what do you think influences that perspective?

  2. Read 1 Chronicles 29:14. David recognized that even the ability to give was a gift from God. As

you consider what God may be calling you to give during this Entrusted season, what would it look like

for you to respond with the same humility, trust, and willingness that David demonstrated? What might be holding you back?

Application

This week, take some time to reflect on the ways God has provided for you.

Think about His visible provision through your regular income and resources, His unexpected provision through blessings you didn’t anticipate, and even the ways He may have protected or sustained you without your realizing it.

Then ask yourself:

Am I approaching generosity with a heart of gratitude and trust, or am I allowing fear and a desire for financial security to hold me back?

Identify one area where you have been relying more on yourself than on God. Surrender that area to Him in

prayer and take one intentional step toward trusting Him more.

As you continue praying about your generosity during Entrusted, remember that everything you have comes from God. Giving back to Him is not simply an obligation. It is a privilege and an opportunity to demonstrate your trust in the One who provides for you.

Pray

Father, thank You for being our faithful provider. Everything we have comes from You, and we recognize that nothing we possess is truly our own.Forgive us for the times we have trusted in our own ability to provide rather than resting in Your faithfulness. Open our eyes to see Your Hand at work in our lives, both in the ways we recognize and the ways we don’t. Help us to trust You more, surrender our fears, and respond to Your generosity with willing and joyful hearts. May the way we give and manage what You have entrusted to us bring glory to You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
