Picture the most treasured possession you own. Now imagine that God asked you to give it up. Would you be willing to let it go? Whether we realize it or not, many of us are tempted to believe that our resources and wealth are the result of our own hard work and accomplishments. At the same time, we may convince ourselves that these things do not have a hold on our hearts. But when it comes down to it, the way we live reveals what we truly believe: either we recognize that everything we have is ultimately provided by God and seek to steward it faithfully, or we hold tightly to what was never ours to begin with.
